The Rabbit Hole | The Incredible Painting of Felix Clousseau
400 E. 17th St.Crossroads Arts District Fridays 4-8, Saturdays 10-5, and Sundays 12-4 through May 20
What if you could walk into a book? Pages turn to passages and corridors in the Rabbit Hole’s first full-scale immersive storybook prototype “Explorastorium.” A 4,000 square-foot temporary space located in the Crossroads Arts District will be transformed into Jon Agee’s beloved picture book classic, The Incredible Painting of Felix Clousseau. Visitors walk into 19th-century Paris where an unknown artist enters the Palace’s Grand Contest of Art and a chain of bizarre events ensues. The story unfolds in an environment that is interactive art installation, narrative journey, jungle gym, and art gallery. This storybook prototype demonstrates a key component of the Rabbit Hole’s larger vision to create a national center for the children’s book here in Kansas City. Visitors are asked to visit rabbitholekc.org/felix-clousseau and reserve a time for a short docent lead tour. A $3 donation per person is suggested. Help the Rabbit Hole create a visionary national center for the children’s book for young and old alike by donating to their Indiegogocampaign!
The Rabbit Hole studios is one of our favorite neighbors, sitting right next to ArtsKC at 110 Southwest Blvd.
