Interested in serving on one of our Grant Committees?

Grant Awards are decided by committees of community volunteers based on the applications submitted.

We are looking for individuals who are either knowledgeable in the arts or who are art enthusiasts. Qualified individuals may include staff of arts and cultural organizations, artists, community leaders and educators, or any other individual. We welcome individuals with diverse geographic, ethnic, gender and aesthetic perspectives.

Responsibilities include

  • read assigned applications over the course of a few weeks (number of applications will vary)
  • write evaluation comments in our online grant system
  • meet as a group to discuss the content of applications, and make funding decisions, which will be recommended to the board for approval
  • answer to a Committee Chair, who leads the group; and to the ArtsKC Grants Manager, who guides the group on policy, eligibility, and history
