Ari Fish | High Seas Low Planes
2012, La Esquina
Ari Fish is a gem in our Kansas City artists community. She has been a ceramicist, a painter, performer, sculptor, mother, musician, and fiber artist. The Kansas City Art Institute is lucky enough to have her as its academic advising and career services coordinator. Fish has been on tour, on TV, and she is in our city! High Seas Low Planes was intended to serve as a “temporary temple,” a sacred space for people of all kinds to congregate. Groups and individuals were invited and encouraged to use the space as they wished, including for such activities as a class, performance, sermon, meditation, spiritual practice, ritual, or conversation.
Ari Fish received an ArtsKC Inspiration Grant for the High Seas Low Planes installation.
