Maria Vasquez Boyd
Latino Writers Collective
Maria Vasquez Boyd is a painter/artist/writer and founding member of the Latino Writers Collective in Kansas City Missouri. Her work is published in many places, and she exhibits paintings and illustrations across the country and in Mexico. Vasquez Boyd also works in the community facilitating writing workshops in public and private schools, colleges, and the Migrant Workers Project. Currently, Boyd is the producer, engineer and host of ArtSpeak Radio, which features live discussion with artists and writers from the surrounding Kansas City community. Since 2006, the Latino Writers Collective has fostered diverse Latino voices in the Midwest by helping members prep work for readings & publication. Members include: Christina Rodriguez Landis, Gabriela N. Lemmons, Gloria Martinez Adams, Linda Rodriguez, Gustavo Adolfo Aybar (a recent ArtsKC Inspiration Grant recipient), Ignacio Carvajal, Chico Sierra, José Faus, Juanita Salazar Lamb, Mario Duarte, Natali Navarro Cazarez, Miguel M. Morales, Sofiana Olivera-Abalán, Xánath Caraza.
