  • The arts are often how we share stories – of our past, our heritage, and our hopes for the future. Join us for the final ArtsKC Encounter of the season, to hear stories told and sung by Kansas Citians. The Writers Place (located in a spacious old house in the Valentine District) will host, and Folk Alliance International will feature some stellar musicians. When they’re not hosting events with us, The Writers Place offers a place to hear local and visiting writers share their work, classes and workshops for a variety of age groups and audiences, art exhibits featuring local artists, and numerous programs with community partners throughout the region.  Folk Alliance International’s mission is to nurture, engage and empower the international folk music community — traditional and contemporary, amateur and professional — through education, advocacy and performance.
