Memorial & Tribute Gifts

If you have a loved one who has been impacted by ArtsKC or deeply values the arts in our community, consider establishing a memorial or tribute gift as a meaningful way to honor them or celebrate a special occasion, such as a birthday, while supporting our mission. Your memorial or tribute gift will extend the legacy of your loved one and will make a difference.

Donation Matching

Did you know that you could double or triple the impact of your gift? Many gifts can be matched dollar for dollar by your employer. Employers often sponsor matching gift programs and will match any charitable contribution or volunteer hours made by their employees, retiree, or employee spouses. How you can double or triple your gift.

1. Make a cash, check, or credit card donation to ArtsKC. Be sure to keep your receipt in case your employer requires it. Check your workplace giving program to learn about its specific parameters and process.

2. Complete any matching gift donation forms with your employer. Your Human Relations department will have information on what forms to complete and how to submit them to ArtsKC.

3. We take care of the rest! When we receive your form or online request, we’ll reach out to your workplace to follow up. Your company will send the matching contribution directly to ArtsKC. We will notify you when your company’s matching gift has been received.

Legacy Giving

When you include ArtsKC in your estate plan through a meaningful legacy gift, referred to as a bequest, your generosity leaves a lasting impact on Kansas City’s creative community for generations to come. By including ArtsKC in your estate plans, you can help ensure that local artists, arts organizations, and innovative creative programs continue to thrive and connect everyone to the arts well into the future.

If you have named ArtsKC in your will or trust, please let us know so we can ensure that your gift is used according to your wishes. However, if you prefer to remain anonymous, we will keep your name and gift in strict confidence.

Donor Advised Funds

A donor advised fund (DAF), which is like a charitable savings account, gives you the flexibility to recommend how much and how often money is granted to ArtsKC. You can recommend a grant or recurring grants now to make an immediate impact or use your fund as a tool for future charitable gifts.

You can also create a lasting legacy by naming ArtsKC as the beneficiary of the entire account or a percentage of the fund. As a beneficiary, ArtsKC receives the account balance of your fund after your passing. Contact your fund administrator for a beneficiary form.

When you establish a donor advised fund with a community foundation, you receive a federal income tax deduction for the amount of the gift. Additionally, you gain the time you need to decide which charities to support.

If you include ArtsKC in your DAF or legacy plans, please use our legal name and Federal tax ID.

Endowed Gifts

An endowment gift to ArtsKC today paints a brighter future for the arts. When you make a donation to an endowment, you give a gift with both immediate and long-term benefits.

Donations to an endowment are invested. A portion of the annual income from the investment is used to address immediate needs of ArtsKC - ranging from ongoing annual operations, programs or infrastructure improvements. The remaining funds are reinvested to ensure indefinite support.
