Civic Practice Track
civic practice track
The Civic Practice Track is part of ArtsKC’s Creative Leaders Program, a
long-term initiative designed to strengthen the Kansas City arts community’s role in civic leadership. This program recognizes the power of artists and arts practitioners to drive meaningful change and meets the growing demand for innovative voices in planning and public projects.
Empowering Artists in Civic Leadership
The Civic Practice Track builds a network of artists and arts professionals dedicated to civic engagement. Through shared learning experiences, honorariums, mentorship, and direct connections to civic leaders, participants are prepared to serve on municipal and regional boards, committees, and projects.
Artists in this program contribute to key areas such as:
- -City Planning
- -Housing & Community Development
- -Transportation & Infrastructure
- -Climate Change Strategies
- -Public Policy & Civic Boards
By equipping artists with the tools, knowledge, and support to engage in civic leadership, the Civic Practice Track helps shape a more innovative, inclusive, and representative future for our region.
