Cassandra Gillig, a writer and archival researcher concerned with the preservation of Kansas City LGBT history, is chronicling the publication of TransSisters, a landmark transfeminist magazine published out of Kansas City from 1994-1995 by Davina Anne Gabriel. Working to preserve the legacy of this publication, Gillig will undertake an oral history project that captures the experiences of contributors and readers, as well as other local figures from the KC trans organizing community of the early 90s. Grant funds will be used to pay narrators and set up an archival website for the project.
