Jena Vangjel, musician, will host 10 weeks of music classes for the unhoused people who utilize services through IntersectKC. Two classes, a children’s music class and a bucket drumming class for all ages, will meet weekly, and will address the human need for expression, connection, and beauty. Creative engagement provides participants the opportunity to nourish their whole self, allowing them an opportunity for not only expression and joy, but also to restore dignity and affirm their humanity in a way that only the arts can. Inspiration Grant funds will be used to cover teaching artist fees, building rental, and instruments.
