Marketing capacity Program
As part of ArtsKC's Audience Development Practice, the Marketing Capacity Program provides small to mid-sized arts organizations with an assessment of marketing capacity, professional development training, and risk capital for a marketing project. Non-profit arts organizations are experiencing a growing need for marketing investment in professional skill, technology, and data systems in order to keep up with the ever-changing environment.

COVID TESTING SITE OPEN FOR THE PUBLIC
ArtsKC supported the organization of a new COVID testing site tailored to the needs of the arts community, especially the performing arts. This new testing site is now open to the public. NOMI Health will be facilitating and operating the testing site.

Arts Leadership Network events bring together arts administrators throughout the Kansas City region to connect, discuss industry trends, and collaborate on topics like DEI, funding, and programming. Network members have first access to professional development, training, and other programs at ArtsKC. Members advise ArtsKC on programs to best support their needs.

ArtsKCGo.com is a local event calendar provided by ArtsKC that includes Visual Art, Film, Theatre, Dance, Poetry, Classes, Family, and Free events across the metro. Here you can also find listings of local artists, organizations, venues, and opportunities like jobs and open calls.
Types of Events: Events are listed under at least one Primary Category (Art, Music, etc.) and can be cross-listed under as many additional primary or sub-categories (Visual, Gallery, etc.) as relevant.
*Exceptions may be made for events associated with ArtsKCGo calendar partners utilizing a calendar widget on their site, in which case the event will only appear on the partner site, not on ArtsKCGo.com.
How do you evaluate event content?
- Inclusiveness: ArtsKCGo listings do not discriminate on the basis of the subject matter or artists involved, including for reasons of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, national origin, age, disability, or political point of view.
Responsibility: ArtsKCGo accepts event listings that use images and language up to what would be considered a “PG-13” level.
Tolerance: ArtsKCGo does not accept event listings that feature slurs, epithets or hateful comments.
Consideration: Events listed on ArtsKCGo are to be open to the public, non-exclusive, community-minded events where the focus lies within the community of the Kansas City metro and adheres to these guidelines.
Is there a fee to list?
ArtsKC does NOT charge non-profit organizations to list events on ArtsKCGo.com.

ArtsKC reserves the right to edit and/or remove any and all listings or images without prior notification to the event submitter. These guidelines articulate the general parameters by which such information will be considered and accepted or rejected for submission to the website; however, in all instances, the authority to make decisions based on specific circumstances belongs to ArtsKC.
ArtsKCGo.com supports the marketing efforts of the arts community through increased audience engagement. Organizations and artists use this free platform to create profiles, upload events and drive attendance.
Arts and culture in the Kansas City region is powered by an ecosystem of passionate, innovative individuals, non-profit organizations and for-profit businesses. ArtsKC partners with other organizations currently hosting or wishing to host an arts events calendar on their websites. Sharing our events calendar amplifies the marketing efforts of those posting events on ArtsKCGo.com.

Why share event information?
- Calendar sharing creates a single submission point with multiple outputs – bringing more eyes on events with less hassle.
- Less time and resources used to submit events to multiple calendars.
- Less time and resources used by an organization to manage an events calendar.
- This allows organizations to cross-market their events to new and existing audiences and ensure information is consistent across platforms.
How does it work?
- ArtsKC creates a widget to embed on an organization’s website to stream event information from ArtsKCGo.com. No management required.
- Widgets are created via a WordPress Plugin, XML feed, or raw data feed. ArtsKC does not provide design services to those choosing a raw data feed.
- Widgets can be filtered by category, zip code, organization, individual event, etc. at no additional cost.
- The calendar widget is FREE to non-profit arts organizations!

COMING SOON! The Audience Opportunity Tool (AOT) shows arts groups how likely area households are to attend their events and provides sociodemographic characteristics of area neighborhoods. The goal of the AOT is to empower arts and cultural leaders with knowledge about the local market that can help them to understand, attract and better serve their community.
