Marketing capacity Program

As part of ArtsKC's Audience Development Practice, the Marketing Capacity Program provides small to mid-sized arts organizations with an assessment of marketing capacity, professional development training, and risk capital for a marketing project. Non-profit arts organizations are experiencing a growing need for marketing investment in professional skill, technology, and data systems in order to keep up with the ever-changing environment.

COVID TESTING SITE

COVID TESTING SITE OPEN FOR THE PUBLIC

ArtsKC supported the organization of a new COVID testing site tailored to the needs of the arts community, especially the performing arts. This new testing site is now open to the public. NOMI Health will be facilitating and operating the testing site.

Location: 3901 Main St Kansas City, MO 64111 (adjacent parking is located east of the building, enter through the east door)
 
Hours: Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm, closed on Saturdays and Sundays.
 
Test types: Antigen and PCR (Turnaround times for PCR tests is 48-72 hours)
 
Cost: No charge for testing
 
Scheduling: Appointments are encouraged, but if not possible, walk-ins will be accommodated. Make an appointment here.

ArtsKC is thankful to Caleb Buland and Ilan Salzberg and the By Exact team for providing the location. By Exact owns, develops and manages in midtown including the Netherland and Monarch apartments next door. Contact them for apartments or BnB options. This testing site is made possible thanks to NOMI Health and their quick mobilization of expert medical services in our community. Thanks to Sidonie Garrett, Executive Artistic Director with the Heart of America Shakespeare Festival, for your important advice.
 
Their direct support is deeply appreciated in helping support the healthy recovery and reopening of our Kansas City arts and culture industry. This site is uniquely launched as a public service that is directed at the arts, culture and education community. Hours of operation aim to follow the needs of the performing arts community.

Where is the testing site?
The testing site is located at: 3901 Main St Kansas City, MO 64111. Please see the red arrows in the image above to see how to get to the testing site. The doors to get into the building have been marked by a blue star on the map image above.
 
 
When is it open?
Monday - Friday 9am – 5pm. Closed on weekends.
 
 
Who can get a test?
The test site is available for use by ANYONE, including arts organizations, audience members, arts education program families, and general public.
 
 
What kind of tests do they administer?
Antigen and PCR (Turnaround times for PCR tests is 48-72 hours) as supplies allows.
 
 
Is there a charge for testing?
There is no charge for testing.
 
 
Do I need an appointment to get a test?
You are not required to have an appointment to get a test. Appointments made online on the NOMI health website are encouraged to help accommodate all patrons. Walk-ins are always accepted and encouraged if it is convenient for you.
 
 
How do I make an appointment?
Visit the NOMI Health COVID Test Locations Website, click Missouri, and select the 3901 Main St KC site option.
 
 
Where do I park?
You can find a parking lot on the east side of the building. The parking lot is annotated in red on the map image above.
 
 
How do I get into the building?
When you arrive and park, you should see signs by the building doors identifying the COVID-19 Testing Site. Use the call box to the left of the doors to find the name “NOMI” and be buzzed into the building.
 
 
Does the site close for inclimate weather?
NOMI Health will occasionally close due to inclimate weather, please see the ArtsKC COVID Testing site page for updates on site closures.

Arts Leadership Network events bring together arts administrators throughout the Kansas City region to connect, discuss industry trends, and collaborate on topics like DEI, funding, and programming. Network members have first access to professional development, training, and other programs at ArtsKC. Members advise ArtsKC on programs to best support their needs.

ArtsKCGo.com is a local event calendar provided by ArtsKC that includes Visual Art, Film, Theatre, Dance, Poetry, Classes, Family, and Free events across the metro. Here you can also find listings of local artists, organizations, venues, and opportunities like jobs and open calls.

  • Lead Time: Each submitted event is reviewed by ArtsKC staff before publishing. Please allow 3 – 4 business days for your event to be reviewed. We recommend that you submit your event listing at least two to four weeks prior to the event’s start date for optimal promotion. If we receive your event info less than two weeks in advance, we cannot guarantee that your event will be posted.
  • Public Events: All events must be open to the public, with or without a fee. Invitation/member-only events will not be accepted.
  • Location: ArtsKCGo currently includes events held in the five-county service area of ArtsKC – Regional Arts Council including Jackson, Clay, Platte, Johnson and Wyandotte counties.
    *Exceptions may be made for events associated with ArtsKCGo calendar partners utilizing a calendar widget on their site, in which case the event will only appear on the partner site, not on ArtsKCGo.com.

Types of Events: Events are listed under at least one Primary Category (Art, Music, etc.) and can be cross-listed under as many additional primary or sub-categories (Visual, Gallery, etc.) as relevant.

    • Clearly stated as a “fundraiser” or “fundraising event” within the event description
  • ArtsKCGo does NOT accept:
  • Events outside of the Kansas City metropolitan area
  • Political rallies/fundraisers
  • Religious/worship services or events that assume religious or spiritual beliefs of the audience
  • Happy hours, networking and/or recruitment events
  • Informational or business-building events
  • Artists: If an event is held at a local gallery, the gallery may list the event on behalf of the artist. If you are an artist, please join the Artist Directory! You can then attach your name to existing event listings.
How do you evaluate event content?
  • Inclusiveness: ArtsKCGo listings do not discriminate on the basis of the subject matter or artists involved, including for reasons of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, national origin, age, disability, or political point of view.
    Responsibility: 
    ArtsKCGo accepts event listings that use images and language up to what would be considered a “PG-13” level.
    Tolerance: 
    ArtsKCGo does not accept event listings that feature slurs, epithets or hateful comments.
    Consideration:
     Events listed on ArtsKCGo are to be open to the public, non-exclusive, community-minded events where the focus lies within the community of the Kansas City metro and adheres to these guidelines.

Why share event information?
  • Calendar sharing creates a single submission point with multiple outputs – bringing more eyes on events with less hassle.
  • Less time and resources used to submit events to multiple calendars.
  • Less time and resources used by an organization to manage an events calendar.
  • This allows organizations to cross-market their events to new and existing audiences and ensure information is consistent across platforms.
How does it work?
  • ArtsKC creates a widget to embed on an organization’s website to stream event information from ArtsKCGo.com. No management required.
  • Widgets are created via a WordPress Plugin, XML feed, or raw data feed. ArtsKC does not provide design services to those choosing a raw data feed.
  • Widgets can be filtered by category, zip code, organization, individual event, etc. at no additional cost.
  • The calendar widget is FREE to non-profit arts organizations!

The goal of the AOT is to empower arts and cultural leaders with knowledge about the local market that can help them to understand, attract and better serve their community.
