Maletas is a multimedia performance exploring the immigrant experience, written by Alberto Racanati. At its center is a suitcase, symbolizing memory and displacement, guiding the protagonist through different life stages. The 60-minute show blends live music, acting, and visuals, featuring a solo actor, five musicians, and a VJ. Structured in four movements, it portrays themes of loss, adaptation, and identity. Inspired by Alberto’s own immigrant journey, Maletas tells a universal story of belonging and displacement. Grant funding will be used to cover artist fees, venue rental, documentation and marketing expenses.
