Brydie O’Connor is a Kansas-bred filmmaker. Her work focuses on queer stories, and has screened at festivals such as Outfest and Kansas City International Film Festival along with galleries and The Museum of Modern Art. She is inspired by archival histories, LGBTQ+ intergenerational dialogue, and her upbringing in the Midwest. The Teri Rogers Filmmakers Grant will support the production of “Sasporumpet”: When the star player of a ragtag women’s college tennis team breaks her offbeat good luck charm before the state final, she’s forced to fend for herself on the court and use the confidence she’s learned in the game to pursue what she really wants: her teammate.
