Stephanie Roberts, a theatre artist and educator, will develop The Barter Show, a participatory performance exploring exchange, trust, and the creative economy. Using devised theatre methods, structured improvisation, and iterative workshops, Roberts will collaborate with local artists to test an exchange-based performance structure with audiences. The project will include a writing and research retreat and public workshop showings in Kansas City. Grant funds will be used for artist fees, dramaturgical development of the exchange structure, stipends for collaborating artists, documentation, and modest production costs.
