Melonnie Walker – Senior Manager of People, Culture & Inclusion – joined ArtsKC in Jan of 2024. In this role, she advances organizational priorities at the intersection of people, culture, and community impact. She supports the President & CEO’s leadership initiatives, leads diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility efforts, and coordinates leadership and board engagement. Her work also supports ArtsKC’s public policy and advocacy initiatives, grantmaking and programming, and human resources efforts, including recruitment and employee engagement. Through this cross-functional work, Melonnie helps foster an inclusive organizational culture and strengthen ArtsKC’s connections with the arts and cultural community. 

Melonnie earned her Bachelors of Science in Management, Human Resources from Park University. She also holds a Master of Arts in Theatre History from the University of 

Missouri-Kansas City. She is a theatre historian, whose scholarly work is focused on the legacy of August Wilson’s American Century Cycle. She is the Artistic Director of Operations for KC Melting Pot Theatre and serves as Vice President and Conference Planner for the August Wilson Society.
