Melonnie Walker – Manager, Leadership Engagement and DEI+A Initiatives – joined ArtsKC in Jan of 2024. She supports the President & CEO’s initiatives, which currently include public policy and advocacy; diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility; as well as other community-related work.

Melonnie earned her Bachelors of Science in Management, Human Resources from Park University. She also holds a Master of Arts in Theatre History from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. She is a theatre historian, whose scholarly work is focused on the legacy of August Wilson. She is the Associate Artistic Director for KC Melting Pot Theatre and serves as Regional VP and Conference Producer for the Literary Managers and Dramaturgs of the Americas.
