Anne Nye has been taking photographs for many years.  After earning an undergraduate degree in biology, Anne married and had four daughters.  When the girls were young, she took college courses in fine arts in a variety of media.   She also studied with Monte Nagler who studied with Ansel Adams.

Her work has been shown in juried exhibitions in the Kansas City area.  Some of the juried shows include the Five State Photography Show in Hays, Cultures without Borders, a photography show in Madison, Wisconsin, Arti Gras in Leawood, State of the Arts, Prairie Village, and Art at the Center, Overland Park, Kansas. She has had individual shows at the Lenexa City Art Gallery, the Steeple of Light Gallery at the Community Christian Church, the Endres Gallery in Prairie Village, and libraries in Johnson County and Salina, Kansas.  

Anne’s ability to see what is extraordinary in the ordinary is what she enjoys most about photographing.  She is drawn to the magic of reflections and the effect produced by light.
