Written by his daughter Ruthie Wolkey.  Born: Sept. 17, 1915 Passed: Nov. 24, 1988 Glenn attended the Kansas City Art Institute (KCAI) where one of his art teachers was Thomas Hart Benton. He once told me that he dated the model that posed for Mr. Benton’s painting called ‘Persephone’ which is currently hanging at the Nelson Atkins Museum. In World War II he was stationed at Fort Bragg. He was a turret gunner on the B-52 aircraft and served his country fighting the Germans in Egypt. Glenn began working in outdoor advertising as an Art Director in Kansas City, Missouri.  As a hobby Glenn painted in both oils and acrylics. He did portraits but his passion was in nighttime aerial city scenes. The Kansas City Star had a feature of my dad back in 1978. It stated that his paintings hang in 25 of the 50 states and one he knows of that is in France. He preferred versatile acrylics and uses both brush and pallet knife in his work.
