NOW SHOWING ARTIST

Linda Blaha-Kemnitzer

I create finely detailed architectural renderings of historic landmarks and private residences using pencil, pen & ink, watercolor, and mixed media. Each piece balances technical realism with artistic interpretation, incorporating layered elements such as two-dimensional maps, varied perspectives, and vignettes. Together, these components offer multiple viewpoints and invite diverse reactions to the architecture and its surrounding landscape. When appropriate, I integrate historical references into the work. For example, my rendering of Union Station incorporates early 20th-century railroad maps, reflecting Kansas City’s growth and transformation during that period.

My professional background includes teaching at the University of Kansas and developing and
directing nonprofit arts programs in Kansas City. B.F.A. – Maryland Institute College of Art; University of Cincinnati, M.A. – Michigan State University
